The saddest thing is that most people will find this humorous instead of serious. We’re standing right beside one another, and yet we text others instead of actually speaking to each other. Have you ever sat down and thought about how uncomfortable we now are around one another that it’s so bad that we literally pretend to be texting someone when we’re not, just so it’s less awkward to stand beside people? What’s supposed to strengthen our bonds has taken away from it. It’s time to take our faces out of our phones and notice the world, give a kind gesture to someone, and go SEE your friends instead of just texting them.
I’m going to let that sink in.

Ah yes let me just up and leave school right in between my classes so I can go see the friend 40 miles away that i’m currently texting instead of making idle chit chat with the people around me that I don’t particularly care for.Fuck your pretentious shit.

"whines evil technology is making people antisocial its not real communication if its not face to face and im a pretentious self righteous shitbaby that asks random people on the street for the time and feels good about it"

I think the next fandom trend should be combining stock AUs. Imagine!:

    • Cops AU plus Hogwarts AU equals Wizard Buddy Cops, subtext, and as many wand jokes as you can make
    • A high school AU, only it’s high school in the future featuring space station hijinks and/or alien invasion, mixed in with serious concerns about who’s going with who to prom
    • The coffee shop AU, liberally spiced up with interactions with a mirror world where the heroes become the villains and vice versa—and can the adorably dorky new barista figure out how to make the perfect latte art and keep her girlfriend from falling in love with her eviler, sexier doppelganger?
    • Noir detective pirate AU, and the difficulties of solving gritty crime on the high seas
    • Vampire Western AU, and the challenges of cattle rustling on the sunny plains of the wild west, and making sure that none of those damned suckers take out any of pa’s herd again!
    • Prohibition-era speakeasy AU with fairy tale AU featuring the complications of being secretly magical and smuggling when you can’t actually lie
    • Okay, coffee shop AU + ANYTHING is hilarious to me
    • Regency coffee shop AU
    • Vampire coffee shop AU (BARTENDING IN THE DARK)
    • Gym rat vampire AU—getting pumped and drinking blood
    • Mermaid college AU

    oh gosh yes

    • space pirates AU
    • Regency superhero AU
    • coffee shop dystopian AU
    • 1940s fairy tale AU
    • Western AU + aliens
    • high school AU + smuggling
    • space AU + domestic, first apartment, etc
    • Hogwarts AU + struggling musicians

Send me a fandom (pairing optional) and one of these AUs and I will write it.  Dead serious.

This Tree Is Growing 40 Different Kinds Of Fruit At Once
This single (and quite colorfully blossoming) tree grows 40 different varieties of peaches, plums, apricots, nectarines, cherries, and even almonds — but just how does it do it?
It does it through the process of chip grafting. After sculptor Sam Van Aken bought a failing orchard in upstate New York full of hundreds of different fruit trees, he began the pain-staking process of grafting several of the different varieties together into one tree. Six years later, the result is this 40-fruit bearing tree, which includes some heirloom varieties that are centuries old.

I’ve tried a new toned paper sketchbook and response from commissioners have been awesome. I manage to get all great x-men commissions out of it. Wish i had time to draw Magneto rogue and Cyclops though.

Storm and Wolverine are fore sell at sdcc . The rest have been spoken for. Safe travels everyone!

photos by ryan dyar from the pacific northwest (click pic for location), who notes, “‘i try to bring a three dimensional sense of life to a two dimensional medium. sometimes, it requires many nights of camping in the back county waiting for the right conditions,” adding, “there are even a few shots where it has taken me years of traveling back to the same location to get the ideal setting.”

but he says, “if my images can bring awareness to protecting wilderness or even inspire a person to get out and see these areas for themselves, then that would be amazing.”
